Macros: Where to start

Before creating a macro, the following steps will make the task easier. Many people get stressed once a recorder is turned on. They will ease the stress! These steps will also save you time later when there are problems.
  1. Write down a summary of what the macro is going to do. A small paragraph or sentence is good.
  2. Write down the step by step instructions of what you want the Macro will do. Use the computer.
  3. Follow the steps you have written down to ensure you have not forgotten anything. It is good to ask someone else to go through the steps to verify this.
  4. Now you are ready to create the macro.
Following these steps will save you time trying to figure out what it is wrong with your macro. We call that debugging. They will also help you be more confident when creating your macros.
