Shut off or Restart your computer with the mouse: Windows 8

Although there are a three ways to shut off or Restart your computer with Windows 8 it is hard to find them. One of the frequently asked questions.

1. Mouse
Move your mouse to the bottom right hand corner or the top right hand corner.
The following clear menu appears which is called the Charms bar

Move the mouse over the menu The Charms bar background goes black.

Click on the the Settings icon.

The following screen appears

Click on the Power icon [bottom middle icon] as shown below

The following menu appears.





Select one of the following

Sleep

Shut Down will turn off the computer. It will close any programs that are currently open.

Restart is similar to shutting down the computer but it starts up again right after shutting down.
